Meet your instructor, Salwa

Salwa Salim, an ethnic Malay from Singapore, has built her expertise at the intersection of modern healthcare and traditional midwifery. With a focus on the first 40 days after birth, she founded Mummy’s Massage in 2012, integrating Traditional Malay Medicine into her practice to support thousands of women through pregnancy, fertility treatments, postpartum care, and recovery after miscarriage. After relocating to the U.S. while pregnant, Salwa identified a critical gap in postpartum care and established Birth Matron in 2022. Through this initiative, she trains birth professionals and collaborates with birth centers, midwifery practices, wellness centers, and pelvic health clinics to enhance maternal health outcomes through holistic care. Her commitment to maternal health and cultural preservation has earned her national recognition in Singapore, media acclaim, and partnerships with esteemed institutions such as museums, heritage boards, UNESCO projects, and universities. An active international speaker at maternal health conferences—and featured on Fox News and Good Morning DC—Salwa remains deeply engaged in the birthing communities of both the U.S. and Singapore, continuously integrating traditional wisdom with modern science to provide comprehensive support for mothers worldwide.
